Knee Arthroscopy

Diet: Regular as tolerated

Medication: Vicodin 1 to 2 tablets every 4-6 hours as needed Advil, Motrin or Aleve as directed

Weight Bearing: As tolerated (crutches or cane are optional)

Dressing: Remove in 3 days

Shower: Keep dressing dry for 3 days

Exercises: Ankle pumps, Quadricep sets, Knee flexion, Straight leg raises as instructed

Ice: Use ice packs daily for 20 minutes 3 times per day (do not place ice directly on skin)

Follow-up: Please follow up in the office in approximately one week after surgery

Call office if you experience: uncontrollable pain, fevers >101, numbness or tingling, excessive bleeding or drainage from surgical area, nausea/vomiting, or with any questions.

Shoulder Arthroscopy

Diet: Regular as tolerated

Medication: Vicodin 1 to 2 tablets every 4-6 hours as needed Advil, Motrin or Aleve as directed

Sling: Keep sling on until follow-up in office

Dressing: Remove in 3 days

Shower: Keep dressing dry for 3 days

Exercises: Hand, Wrist, Elbow range of motion as instructed

Ice: Use ice packs daily for 20 minutes 3 times per day (do not place ice directly on skin)

Follow-up: Please follow up in the office in approximately one week after surgery

Call office if you experience: uncontrollable pain, fevers >101, numbness or tingling, excessive bleeding or drainage from surgical area, nausea/vomiting, or with any questions

ACL Reconstruction

Diet: Regular as tolerated

Medication: Vicodin 1 to 2 tablets every 4-6 hours as needed Advil, Motrin or Aleve as directed

Weight Bearing: As tolerated with knee brace and crutches

Dressing: Remove in 5 days

Shower: Keep dressing dry for 5 days

Exercises: Ankle pumps, Quadricep sets, Knee flexion, Straight leg raises as instructed

Ice: Use ice packs daily for 20 minutes 3 times per day (do not place ice directly on skin)

Brace: Use brace for 2 weeks with sleeping and ambulation

Follow-up: Please follow up in the office in approximately one week after surgery

Call office if you experience: uncontrollable pain, fevers >101, numbness or tingling, excessive bleeding or drainage from surgical area, nausea/vomiting, or with any questions

Ankle Arthroscopy

Diet: Regular as tolerated

Medication: Vicodin 1 to 2 tablets every 4-6 hours as needed Advil, Motrin or Aleve as directed

Weight Bearing: Non-weight bearing with crutches for one week then progressive weight bearing as tolerated in a cam walker boot

Dressing: Remove in 3 days

Shower: Keep dressing dry for 3 days

Exercises: Ankle pumps, Quadricep sets, Knee flexion, Straight leg raises as instructed

Ice: Use ice packs daily for 20 minutes 3 times per day (do not place ice directly on skin)

Follow-up: Please follow up in the office in approximately one week after surgery
