Resident Teaching
Since the first course was held in 2001, AANA has set the standard in fundamental arthroscopic education for residents and fellows and has trained nearly 2,000 residents from across the country. Many residency programs choose to send their residents as a core part of their curriculum to establish a solid foundation for future training and arthroscopic surgery. The greatest strength of the course is the dedication of the faculty and the relationships forged between the faculty and the residents. The course provides extensive hands-on skill development, personal guidance from legendary surgeons, and the insights that can only come from close 1-on-1 interactions. I have made many friends over the years and learned a great deal from the faculty and residents.
